Quality Inn

I’m staying at the hotel now and it feels homely and comfortable. The rooms are clean and safe, and the owners and management seem caring and warm. The owners are very nice, too. It’s called City center inn now. There’s free coffee you can drink as much as you want, and the ice machine works. The quality is about what you’d expect at an average American price.

We had a quiet, cozy stay at City Center Inn and the check-in was very nice. The rooms looked clean at first, but while we were settling in, my four year old spotted a dried pool of urine around the base of the toilet. We also bought food for the next morning, then woke up to a burning metallic smell from the fridge. The door was burning hot and all our food and drinks were hot and bloated, so we had to throw everything away. It must have gone out overnight, and we checked out much earlier than planned because of it. Aside from that, it was a quiet and cozy place, and we’ll come back.

After a long drive, Melinda at the front desk was great and got us settled quickly. The simple breakfast was nice, and having basics like a microwave and fridge in the room helped. The staff in general were good, which is the main reason for my higher rating. The rooms and bedding could use improvement. I think they’re renovating a few rooms, so hopefully that helps. For a budget hotel, it’s good value.

I won’t stay here again or recommend it. The double room’s two mattresses both sagged in the middle, and the sheer curtains were torn. There’s no elevator, and the place needs upgrades. They didn’t offer breakfast because the dining area was too small for COVID-19 social distancing. The next morning I asked the maid for clean linens and she refused, then walked away. I complained to the desk clerk, who told her we needed room service. That was a big turn off.
