This hotel was wonderful from check-in to dinner. The historic 1800s house, once E.H. Taylor's home, is beautiful, and the rooms mix modern charm with that old character. Automated room codes made checking in and out easy, and the staff were lovely and accommodating. We ate at the hotel restaurant on our last night, and the food was phenomenal. The collard green dip is a must-try. The hotel is also right in downtown historic Frankfort, within walking distance of great food and all sorts of places. We’ll definitely be back.

After dinner and live music downtown, we ended the evening with a drink from the Ashbrook Hotel bar in the cozy library. It felt like stepping into another era and was a lovely way to wind down. My husband and I were in town touring the Bourbon Trail, and the whole stay felt special. The Ashbrook combines the originality of an old home with modern, eclectic style, and each space felt thoughtfully designed while still true to its roots. The staff were so welcoming, and we loved being able to walk around downtown Frankfort, with its charm, dining, music, historic homes, and buildings. It’s a cool, fun hotel with a lot of heart and history. We can’t wait to return.

We chose the package I won from Hank Fm for my husband’s birthday and a late Valentine’s Day, on Sunday February the 15th. I could have gone to John Michael Montgomery final show at Rupp instead. I was supposed to get the king suite, with check-in at 3 pm, but at 255 they emailed to say the room was out of order. I don’t believe that. I think when they realized my stay was free, they gave the room to a paying customer. That’s bad business. They put us in a room way at the back, not even connected to the hotel. I would’ve recommended this place to lots of people before, but now I don’t recommend it. Thanks for ruining my husband’s birthday and our Valentine’s Day.

We got into town pretty late, but the staff were still welcoming and answered our questions. The luxury king room was great, with a comfortable bed and a very clean room. If you arrive before 9pm, there’s plenty to do within walking distance.

I live locally, so I haven’t stayed in the rooms, but there isn’t an N/A option. The Ashbrook’s food has been stellar every time I’ve eaten there. I’m so glad a chef with that kind of talent came to Frankfort. They’ve kept the historic features of the house while making it feel inviting and special. Tonight we stopped in just for the atmosphere, coffee, and dessert on a nice evening. We had a Johhny at the Bar drink and yummy beignets with a warm, caramelly flavor. The drink’s smoky chocolate coffee notes went perfectly with the hot caramel creme-filled beignets.
