Colonial Inn Franklin

The room was comfortable, with a great bed, effective blackout curtains, and A/C that worked perfectly. Everything was very clean, and the owner was kind. I liked having chairs right outside each room, and the mural on the side of the building is lovely. Breakfast is simple, with banana bread, muffins, and cereal, plus good coffee in the morning. There’s a fire pit out front with firewood provided. We didn’t use it, but it looked cozy.

The pool is out of service, but the grill and fire pit are both in great shape. The owner was also willing to go out of their way to get whatever we needed. It’s a charming renovated motel, and our room was neat and very clean. The bathroom was spacious, with good shower pressure and plenty of hot water.

They never gave back the deposit I left when checking in, which made an already awful stay even worse. The staff reacted badly to feedback and complaints and didn’t seem willing to fix anything. The place was dirty, and the breakfast was poor quality, with old food that was badly presented. I also saw cockroaches in several areas. I can’t recommend this hotel under any circumstances.

This is a very clean, nice place, and it allows pets. Service animals stay free. I’d give it a 10/10 apart from one thing: pet and damage deposit rules aren’t clearly explained on sites like booking.com. Call the hotel before booking to find out the policy. If you’re traveling without pets, it’s a great option.
