The hotel itself was great: modern, comfortable room, everything worked, very good breakfast, useful amenities, free parking, and restaurants and shops nearby. It was also a very good price. The rest of the staff were nice, so maybe we were just unlucky, but the check-in experience was humiliating. If not for that, I'd definitely return. A couple of hours before arrival, I messaged to add my fiancée to the room because I'd lost my voice and didn't have my ID. No one replied to that or my follow-up until many hours later, after I'd checked in. At the desk, a man asked for my ID. My fiancé showed his valid ID, but it was rejected. The staff member said he'd call his manager, then left us standing there. After 15 minutes, he called someone and said, "I have a guest checking-in that doesn’t have her ID," leaving out the rest of the situation. The manager denied it and didn't try to help. We drove back to my place in Nashville to get my passport, since I only had a photo of my lost ID. I answered a lot of questions, then mentioned I had an explore form because I work for Marriot. The man walked off to help someone else. When he returned with the form, he asked where I worked, where the hotel was, how long I'd been in Nashville, and what I was doing there. It felt intrusive, especially since I'd explained that I couldn't speak. We finally got our room two hours after first trying to check in.

The front desk offers friendly, accommodating service around the clock. The Fairfield Marriott is clean and attractive inside, and it sits among plenty of shopping and dining options in an area that felt safe and easy to get around. My room had a modern feel, lots of storage, a roomy bathroom, and a smart TV I could cast to. The beds were very comfortable too. For the price, it's a 10/10.

For a 2.5-star hotel, the rooms were decent and clean when we arrived, and the first staff we met were kind. The location is nice and the price is cheap, but service could be better, especially for a veteran who just wanted to park where access to the entrance would be easier. I plan to file a formal complaint with corporate because staff were unhelpful and seemed willing to let people break the law. On Saturday 4/18/26, I told the evening desk staff that cars without valid decals or plates were in the handicapped spots. One man said there was nothing he could do and asked if I even lived there. When I said I'd call police to issue tickets, he said he didn't want trouble. Another man told me to send the police in to explain why those cars were allowed to park there. I also saw a man leave a car parked in a handicapped spot with no visible authorization, walk behind the garage, then head away from the hotel. With another review mentioning car break-ins and damage, they should be careful about who is on the property.

I rarely post public reviews, but long-stay guests should know what happened during my three-week work assignment. I emailed the general manager a calm, detailed account with photos and still had no response after more than a week. The biggest disappointment was how little communication and consideration there was for people already staying there. I got an unrequested wake-up call at 4 a.m. I also found a Dremel rotary tool in my makeup bag. The front desk confirmed there had been no maintenance in my room, and housekeeping had been excellent, so I still have no idea how a power tool got into my belongings. When my stay was extended, nobody told me I'd have to switch rooms, by call, email, message, or note. Instead, while I was in the shower, someone banged on my door and said I had to move immediately. There was no room number ready and no key. My key had been deactivated before I could return, and I was told to "find the girl in the hallway" to let me in. As a long-stay guest, I'd fully unpacked and had to pack and move everything myself. Help was offered only after I'd finished. Other consultants were moved too, while a large group checking in was left together without disruption. Consultants away for the weekend had their belongings put in trash bags and moved while they weren't there. That's extremely unprofessional and a serious breach of trust. This was the most unsettling experience I've had at a Marriott property.

Venus, the manager, was thoughtful and friendly when she called just a few hours after checkout. I'd accidentally left my electric water flosser in the bathroom, and she arranged to ship it back to me. That kind of help made a good stay even better. We used the hotel for two nights, 10/11 to 10/13, while exploring downtown Nashville and the surrounding area. It was clean, the staff were friendly, and the free breakfast had a nice selection. The oatmeal station was especially impressive, well stocked and neatly set out with three dried fruits, four kinds of nuts, and more. The breakfast area looked elegant and well designed, not plain and boring like some places. There's free EV charging, too, and a lovely outdoor patio on the second floor where you can rest. We'll choose Fairfield again.
