Econo Lodge Frederick

When I called the next day to ask for a refund, I was told there had been four rooms available that night and they didn't know why I'd been turned away. I'd arrived for my reservation at 7 PM, but the man sitting on the lobby couch with his feet on the table got up to say he'd tried to contact me because there were no rooms available. Not one. I felt discriminated against. He avoided looking at me while talking, then pretended to be on his phone and brushed me off.

Stay away. The photo looks like the place, except for the cigarette burns, mice, and drugs. I've driven trucks and stayed at plenty of trashy hotels, but at least their staff cared. Here, they don't seem to care at all and will tell you to leave in a heartbeat. I watched someone ask for a plunger for four hours, then get yelled at by the desk clerk when they came back to ask again. Ask for sheets or a towel and you're told to wait until housekeeping day. There's drug activity everywhere, no amenities, and don't count on free breakfast. If you extend through a third party instead of directly with them, they'll get their money back by charging a $25 cash fee or making you leave the room from 11 to 3, then giving you that same room back without even cleaning it.

The highway noise was a nightmare, and the door took a really hard push to open. The floor was extremely dirty, the curtains were coming off the window, and the bed comforter had cigarette holes all over it. Even the towels and washcloths looked like scrub rags. This was the worst Econo Lodge I've stayed at. I would not recommend it to anyone.

I checked out and went to a Days Inn down the street. It cost the same and had better amenities and service. Here, there was no complimentary breakfast or coffee, the heater didn't work properly, and the bed sheets were burned.
