After three weeks here, management suddenly said my dogs were wolves and that he didn't believe they were service dogs. I have epilepsy and two seizure alert service dogs. Now they're telling us we have to leave before Christmas, and they wouldn't work with us on a daily pet fee. We also went over a week without hot water and never had a single day of housekeeping. I originally left a good review, but I have to change it to a negative one. If you have pets and want good service, you'd be better off finding another hotel.

We tried two rooms during one stay, and both were dingy with an unbearable urine smell. The odors in the rooms and hallways were nauseating, though the first-floor common area and halls smelled the least. The whole place was filthy, with dog urine stains and fresh puddles in every stair corridor, plus cigarette smell throughout. The rooms were beat up, and the issue seems chronic even though we told the front desk. They call the kitchens fully stocked, but you have to ask for supplies and only get them if they're available. The coffee maker had no supplies either, and the amenities aren't like those at other furnished hotels. The dog fee isn't clearly advertised and plainly isn't being used to maintain the rooms or common areas. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, with or without animals. There are many better, lower-cost hotels within three miles. Beware.

The staff were really friendly and helpful throughout my stay. My room was clean and comfortable. There was a small issue at the start, but management acted quickly to sort it out.

The room keys worked only sometimes, the toilet was broken, and our phone didn't work. My husband asked to have it fixed, but no one came. There was old smoke smell everywhere, in the sheets and furniture and coming from the air conditioner. When I asked the front desk about it, the person said it was from people smoking outside, but this hotel is definitely not smoke-free. We had a very negative experience at ESA Frederick. We don't like being so negative, but be warned. We'll be filing a complaint with the corporate office.
