The location on Main st is excellent, and the pool looks nice, but parking is very limited. The rooms are dated, and the carpets are dirty. Since it’s an older motel, there isn’t much sound insulation between floors or walls. Our upstairs neighbors had a bass-heavy speaker going and ignored calls from the front desk. The night auditor kindly moved us to another room, which probably prevented a confrontation later. In high season, I’m guessing we’d have been out of luck getting moved. Expect an older Super 8 type motel, not a “wonderful” hotel like Expedia calls it. At most a 6 out of 10, and that’s generous.

The location is great if you want to be downtown Fredericksburg, with plenty of shops and restaurants an easy walk away. But at nearly $200, the room wasn’t worth it. It felt like a Motel 6, with chipped paint on the bathroom door, peeling paint on the wall, and a huge crack in the tile above the bathtub. We never got the TV remote working, even after asking the office for new batteries. Not for us, and we won’t stay again.

Driving up, I thought it was a motel and wondered what I’d gotten myself into. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice and cozy it was. I enjoyed my stay there, even though I like the four seasons as much as anybody else.

The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I’ve had, and the beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. The staff were sweet, professional, and considerate. It was very clean, and you can walk anywhere from this location. It has an older look, but who cares when it’s this clean? For the price and location, you can’t do much better. If I return to Fredericksburg, I’ll book this hotel without even looking elsewhere.

Service was great, but this is a very old place. The carpet and curtains were dirty, and after paying over $200 for one night, I found the breakfast yogurt was expired.
