The room was spacious and well cared for, with a hot tub and bakery treats in the fridge and on the counter. We loved the atmosphere, hospitality, and location too. We came to Fredericksburg for our anniversary to relax, hike, visit our cat, and make memories, and ended up having the best time here. It’s been two years, but I’m finally clearing photos off my phone. We’d definitely stay again.

The host was fantastic, answered all our questions, and gave us great suggestions for enjoying Fredericksburg. Breakfast treats were lovely too. The place itself was cute, clean, roomy, and cozy, with a great porch and a hot tub. It’s only a short walk to downtown shopping and restaurants. We had a wonderful stay and plan to come back.

The bed frame in The Tank House squeaked at even the smallest movement, even when I moved my neck, and I slept horribly. I hope management fixes it so future guests can sleep well. Aside from that, the cottages have kept their character while being beautifully refurbished, and everything is orderly. Management is impressive and thoughtful about the details. We felt incredibly welcome, and the place is very well kept and nicely run.

The property is cute and historical, the rooms are very nice and thoughtfully laid out, and I liked how close the grounds were to town and restaurants. But our anniversary trip was badly affected when my husband fell on a neglected, uneven walkway and seriously injured himself. Staff said they knew about the problem and only fixed it once a year. He needed a scooter for his ankle and couldn’t walk after the first day. They repaired the walkway the next afternoon, which was good, but didn’t seem to care much that he’d been hurt. We missed the wineries, museums, caves, and other activities we’d planned because he was in so much pain and couldn’t get into the caves on the scooter. More than three weeks later, he’s only just able to start walking again. I also wasn’t comfortable with the lack of bathroom privacy, since you can see into the shower from the front porch and hear what’s happening in the bathroom. I wouldn’t recommend it if that bothers you. Breakfast was supposed to be included each day according to the website, but we got none on day two and had to eat out. We were also told we’d get a free bottle of wine if we posted publicly about our stay and tagged #stayFredericksburg. We posted on day two and never received it. I don’t usually complain, but this was disappointing.

After a day of walking and sightseeing, the private hot tub was a welcome extra. We had a wonderful time celebrating my mom’s birthday with a family friend. The cottage was clean, had everything we needed, and the directions were clear. It’s in a convenient location, and we’ll definitely visit again.
