Best Western Freeport Inn

My husband and I had a great stay. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and it was easy to reach from Route one. Set back from the road, it was quiet, too. I'm in a wheelchair, and the wood floor made it easy to get around, with a rug around the bed. The room had a roll-in shower, a seat I could position where I wanted, and plenty of grab bars. We highly recommend it.

My car broke down during one of the biggest snowstorms of the year, and my fiancée and I ended up here. The staff were helpful when I told them what had happened. After I fixed the car in the parking lot, I still needed a jump-start. It was 10 o'clock and the storm was going, but Rosh at the front counter asked if I needed help. When I said yes, he went above and beyond, and got my car running. I've seen some reviews about this place, and I wholeheartedly disagree with the negative ones. For any future trips around Portland, Freeport, or nearby areas, my fiancée and I won't stay anywhere else. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Rosh. The Freeport Cafe is right on the property, serving scrumptious breakfasts. It's a busy spot, so you know it's good. Get one of their specialty cinnamon rolls for the road, or better yet, eat it right away! The rooms are spacious, very clean, and have new decor. It's easy to get to from Hwys 1 and 395, yet surprisingly quiet.

The king room was spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable, but this was the oddest hotel we've stayed in. Our river-view room was in a separate building across the river, so we had to drive there from the office. The website didn't explain the two buildings clearly. Road construction right in front, which isn't the hotel's fault, meant driving farther down the road to turn around and come back to the river-view building. It's three stories with no elevator, so anyone with mobility issues should avoid that building. I don't know whether the main building has an elevator. The website should make the lack of an elevator much more prominent. The listing also says there's a bar/lounge, but there isn't. There's a cafe in the main building's parking lot that serves breakfast and lunch. They don't provide the free continental breakfast common at most BWs, either. There was no hairdryer in our room. I asked at the office in the morning to have one brought up because I didn't want to be charged for a missing dryer. Housekeeping came while we were out all day, but there still wasn't one when we returned. The room phone had no dial tone, so I called from my cell. Someone finally answered on the third call and said a dryer would be delivered that evening or the next day. It never arrived. The room was also very bright with all the lights off. Usually that's from outside lights, but here the entry light never fully shut off, maybe it was a night light, and the ceiling-mounted smoke detector had a bright green light.
