Homewood Suites By Hilton Fremont, Ca

For the kind of long stay I need, the hotel is in a perfect spot. Everything I need is nearby, and I don’t have to deal with heavy traffic. I’ve told my company travel desk about it, and Homewood Suites is now a preferred choice in this area. The hotel is new and fresh, with plenty of parking for CA. This was my second stay of several weeks, and I wasn’t disappointed. This one was a little shorter than the last. When I came back after a stressful day, Johnny at the front desk greeted me with “Welcome home.” It isn’t home, of course, but that welcome meant a lot when I was away from family. They know their guests, and the rooms and staff made for a comfortable stay. I’d recommend this place if you need a home away from home.

The shower head detaches, which was great. The room was only cleanish, with hair and bits of paper left on the floor, and the fridge had a lot of dust, like it hadn’t been cleaned. The AC was very loud and couldn’t be turned off, so I didn’t sleep properly. Just so you know, there was a lot of police activity around the area. Most seemed to be hiding to catch people running stop signs and make money off them, not dealing with crime.

The location worked well, parking was $10 a night, and there are EV chargers. The suites are basically studio apartments with what you need for a comfortable longer stay. This is a very new hotel, though it’s still under construction. The site lists an outdoor pool, but it’s still being built, so they should mention that online. Breakfast looked nice, but the choices were limited. Hampton Inn usually has more variety. Maybe that will improve with time. The woman at check-in was just okay. We’re Diamond members with more than 50 Hilton stays a year and usually get great service, but she seemed uninterested, didn’t greet us, offered little explanation, and came across as unfriendly. I’d stay again.

The room was roomy, the furniture felt high quality, and the bed was very comfortable. The pillows seemed fresh, the water pressure was excellent, and everything still has that new, clean feel. There were a couple of service snags. They couldn’t give me a late checkout despite my Diamond status, and the front desk lost track of my request to use a different credit card. I presented the new card in person, but later they said they had no record of it. Still, I enjoyed the stay and think it’s a great property. Hopefully those issues get worked out as the hotel gets established.
