French Lick Springs Villas

The villas are really nice and well maintained, and I love this place. I came for spring break. I'm 6'3 and had to squat just to shower, so they're not exactly big-man friendly, lol. There was also a really strong sulfur smell outside all the time. I'm guessing it was a sewage issue from the hotel, though I'm not sure.

We had a full kitchen stocked with pots, pans, and everything needed to cook dinner ourselves. The place is a bit dated but very clean, with huge rooms that can easily sleep 10, and probably more. It's just a short walk to the casino, and the rate was very affordable. A great place in an already great town.

The pool and playground were great for the kids, but the room wasn't baby-friendly. There were outlets everywhere, so we had to move a lot of furniture, and I found old food under a chair. There's no crib or Pack-n-Play to borrow or rent. The floors creak so badly that it was hard to keep the baby asleep. It was fairly clean, but not as clean as it should've been. This is an old, dingy place, with stains on the carpet and tile, broken cabinet door hinges, and decor that needs a serious update. It looks like my great grandmother's house. There wasn't any shampoo, just white bar hand soap. Checkout came with a page-long list of chores, so it felt like an old motel with Airbnb requirements. The trip was complimentary, so I don't know the price, but I wouldn't spend my own money here.

The unit was clean and well kept, with comfortable beds, though the furniture was a little dated. It had a jacuzzi tub and dry sauna, plus a large kitchen and sitting area. I thought it was good value for the money. We also had an issue with the satellite box, but maintenance came quickly and replaced it. Our “suite” was a large two-bedroom, two-bath condo alongside six others. I was impressed with how private it felt. There were two balconies, one upstairs off the den and one downstairs by the dining room. A Perkins gives you access to the French Lick hotel pool, which was nice. The property also has its own indoor pool with a retractable roof.
