SureStay by Best Western Fresno Central

I booked through booking, and the prices were very good. The motel was cleaner than others I’ve stayed in. The bathtub is slippery, so watch your step. Breakfast was good, with cereal, oatmeal, Danish, yogurt, and milk.

The sheets felt clean, the shower was hot, and the staff were nice. I felt safe enough, even though this may not be the best part of town. Sometimes you have to wait at the desk for staff to show up. For the price, the place met my minimum expectations. Still, the hard tile floors felt dirty, the room had an odd smell, and overall cleanliness wasn’t great. The bathroom vent was especially dusty. I’d stay again if I had to, but if I could spend more, I’d probably go to the DoubleTree around the corner.

My feet were black after walking across the room following a shower because the floors were so dirty. I asked about it and found out the maids don’t have a mop, just a Swiffer. The desk staff member was alone all weekend and overslept both days, so the coffee was late. It’s a cheap hotel with modest accommodations, but I’m not coming back.

The downtown location is very convenient and affordable, but there’s a cost to that. Service was okay, though the staff seemed to have no idea how to clean. They wipe off a little dust, but the rooms are dirty underneath, with obvious cockroach problems.
