The one real problem was a horrible smell, like something had died, in the kitchen and hallway when we first entered Goose in the Pond cottage. We couldn’t tell where it came from. It faded over the next day or so, but it was very strong at first. The rest of our stay was lovely. The cottage was clean, spacious, cozy, and had all the amenities we needed. The property was well kept, and downtown Friday harbor was about a four-minute walk away. We had breakfast both mornings, and it was thoughtful and delicious, with a different tasty, unusual vegetarian breakfast for me each day. Picking up the breakfast basket at the door in the morning felt like relaxing island life, and we even came back midday to fresh cookies on the doorstep. We enjoyed eating on the patio outside our door. I also loved being able to open just the top half of the doors. It felt like a storybook. There was parking for two or three vehicles right by the door, as well as free street parking. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again, and we will be back.

The location at Tucker House was just right, tucked away from the main road, and we had a wonderful stay. The attentive, thoughtful service was outstanding, from booking through checkout. Our bed felt like a cloud but still gave good support; I’m tempted to ask how it was set up so I can recreate it at home. Breakfasts were delicious and suited our dietary restrictions. The cottage and grounds had many welcoming touches that went beyond what we expected. Our little dog was welcomed with fresh bowls, towels, and a “pupcake” that he devoured. We’re already planning another visit and would absolutely recommend the property.

Breakfast arrived at our door the next morning, and it was delicious: waffles with raspberry whipped cream and chocolate chips, bacon, and eggs. My fiancé and I stayed in the Orcas Suite at the Tucker House Inn on Saturday, January 10th, wanting to try a new B&B. We had a wonderful time. The location overlooks the Friday Harbor and is close to restaurants, bars, and activities. We loved relaxing in the hot tub, and the bed’s view of the sound made it hard to leave such a restful spot. We’ll definitely return when we want a getaway from the city. The grounds and room were adorable, just what you’d expect from the theme, and the service was so kind and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious, too. There were lots of thoughtful extras, including good tea, coffee, and hot cocoa in our room, a popcorn station in the kitchen, and lovely flowers in bloom around the grounds. I highly recommend staying here.

Denise was wonderful. She upgraded my fiancé and me to a room with a king bed while keeping our original request for a jetted tub in mind. Since it was our anniversary, she also left us a free bottle of bubbly, rosé wine. Her kindness really surprised me, and the service was amazing. She answered all my texts about the inn quickly and even left chocolates for us. The included breakfast was great, too. A definite 10/10, no complaints at all. We’ll absolutely come back.
