Grand Inn

The location is good, but the room was in rough shape. There was black mold-like growth inside the fridge door and on the cabinets, and the room and hallway had a really unpleasant smell. I found dead bugs and spiders on the cracked bathroom floor, then saw a couple of roaches crawling around in the morning even though we had no food. I can’t say whether there were bedbugs, but I didn’t trust the bed and slept fully dressed. Its springs were worn out and one side sagged much more than the other. There was no AC, so opening the window was the only option. You get what you pay for.

A good choice if you’re watching your budget. The front counter staff were friendly and informative, and housekeeping was quick and very attentive whenever I needed something. My room was clean, with clean towels, and the morning coffee was hot. The A/C worked well, the pool was inviting, and the rate was more than affordable. I had a perfect stay.

Getting to LA was easy and affordable since Fullerton station is a short walk away, and being right on Orangethorpe was a big plus. For the price, the hotel met my needs and then some: the bed was surprisingly comfortable, the room was clean though dated, and the staff were warm and friendly. Some parts of the hotel looked freshly renovated. Check-in and checkout went smoothly, and since we mainly used the room to sleep, it worked for us. The room temperature was comfortable, though there was no thermostat or AC control. Some outlets wouldn’t hold plugs, and the fridge was unplugged, which could be a problem if you don’t notice before storing leftovers. The towels and washcloths felt below the usual standard, but that wasn’t a big concern. The unsettling part was the hallway disturbance early one morning. We heard shouting for hours and I locked our door because I felt unsafe. The following night, police came to escort someone out, which was frightening too. I don’t know what happened, and it may not have been the hotel’s fault, but it seemed to attract a concerning crowd.

This was awful, sorry. The walls were so thin we could hear someone next door having loud sex. Our room was disgusting, with thin, scratchy sheets, and noisy guests woke us at 2 a.m. I called the desk for help, but they never quieted down. The attendant also took my cards and ID without telling me what he charged or where he was putting them. The whole place felt gross, cold, and uncomfortable.
