Hampton Inn Gainesville

We spent two nights here to get away from Atlanta, since my spouse and I could both get time off work. The stay was comfortable and pleasant, and I’d put the hotel closer to four stars. We also walked over to the Gainsville Square for lunch and dinner, and everything we tried was on point. At breakfast, we overheard a more senior pilot helping someone who seemed to be new to the airline, which was pretty cool to see.

The staff were helpful and so nice that I’d consider coming back for the hospitality. The breakfast seating, though, really needs attention. The padding is worn enough that you sit well below the table, and it’s very uncomfortable. The older hotel seems to have been remodeled some time ago, but the beds feel worn, the room and hallway smell a little musty, and the mini fridge barely runs. The lighting could use improvement too.

Things were going fine until I tried the apple juice at breakfast. It tasted like mold. I tried to let the attendant know, but she didn’t speak English, so I went to the front desk. The woman there just rolled her eyes.

I’m 100% disabled, and after I checked in I was told there was plenty of disabled parking and access to my room. That wasn’t the case, and I had to rely on another guest to help me get settled. There were also bloody bandages right outside my door. I really regret paying for this and definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here.
