The Lily Cottage was so comfortable, with a supportive mattress, fluffy bed, and great pillows. The towels and washcloths were thick and soft, too. Sweetwater Branch Inn has a rustic charm that’s lovely, and the property is beautiful enough to see why people choose it for events. We had an easy check-in and check-out, and the staff were welcoming and helpful the whole time. Breakfast had plenty of home-style options and suited the cozy setting. Being downtown in Gainesville meant we could walk to nearby places, and the cottage felt more open and relaxing than a regular hotel room for about the same price. It was a peaceful, enjoyable stay, and we’d happily return and recommend Sweetwater Branch Inn to visitors.

We spent four nights at the Inn while our daughter’s wedding was held there, and I can’t wait to come back just to enjoy the peaceful feeling of the place. Our cottage, Nora Belle’s, was beautiful and roomy, felt like home, and had everything we needed. Whenever a question or concern came up, staff responded right away with a solution. Cornelia even came by herself to check that all was well. The grounds were gorgeous and carefully maintained, with very soft playing on the walkways. It was extremely cold, and staff covered the plants around the grounds. The wedding was wonderful. China paid close attention to what my daughter needed, and the event space was set up beautifully just as requested. The chef was amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious, including breakfast and the special blend coffee.

Victoria Cottage was darling, and the inn’s grounds are adorable. We could walk to shops and restaurants, and to federal buildings when needed. The clean, comforting jacuzzi tub, lush bed, TV, and furnished kitchen all made the stay convenient. Breakfast was delicious, had gluten-free options, and was served in a sweet dining area. We’ll stay again for sure!

The Lily Cottage is a captivating restoration of a vintage home. Staying there felt like stepping into another period, and it brought back memories of our younger years and time with our families. It made our anniversary feel even more special. We came to Sweetwater for our 50th wedding anniversary and got the romantic moments we hoped to share. The holiday-lit porch was a perfect setting for dinner for two, and the food was exquisite. The chef’s personal attention, conversation, and service made the meal complete. The facility and staff helped make the whole visit special. We’ll return for another Sweetwater stay; it’s well worth it.

I was there for a wedding weekend and would gladly come back. The buildings have cozy historic character and were clean, parking on site was easy, and downtown Gainesville is walkable. The breakfast buffet was high quality with lots of choices.
