Hotel Galena was only a stone's throw from downtown, and being just off US20 was convenient. There was free onsite parking. Nate sent useful directions for parking and getting to the hotel, and the code for the door made check-in simple. Our room was immaculately clean, with a comfortable bed and a nice mix of modern comfort and historic charm. We stayed only one night, but the kind hosts made us feel welcome. Earplugs were thoughtfully provided, though we didn't need them because it never got too loud. We'll certainly be back.

Nate was friendly and kept in touch, and being able to check in early was much appreciated. Room 7 at Riverboat Suites was very clean and roomy, with separate sitting and breakfast areas, a great bed, and luxurious linens. On a cold winter day, the fireplace and bathtub were especially welcome. We didn't get to try breakfast, though the coffee smelled wonderful. The courtyard seems like a lovely place to eat or relax once the weather warms up. We'd like to stay at Hotel Galena again and try one of the other unique rooms.

Since it's a historic building, you can hear the neighbors, so the sound privacy isn't great. Still, this was one of the best hotel rooms we've stayed in. Our suite had everything we needed, including a steam shower, a comfortable bed, a huge fireplace, and a huge hot tub. It's a family-run hotel, and Nate greeted us as we parked, offered help, and shared lots of food and activity suggestions along with some Galena history. What a great experience.

We booked Hotel Galena on the spur of the moment for a one-night escape, and everything from reservation to checkout went smoothly. Nate, the innkeeper, was organized, personable, knowledgeable, and helpful, sending clear instructions by text. He offered more than once to carry our bags up the steps. We managed ourselves, but appreciated the offer. Room #3 was clean, cozy, very comfortable, and full of natural light, with great views. Main Street was an enjoyable short walk away. We have plenty of good things to say about the stay and plan to return when it's warmer, hopefully for longer. Highly recommend!

Breakfast was hot, fresh, and delicious, and it was nice to chat with Nate, the owner. He knows the town's history well and gave us helpful ideas for local sights, restaurants, and attractions, so we'll have reasons to come back. The room was spotless and full of character, with wood beams, a cozy fireplace, and a large steam shower that felt spa-like. The bed was extremely comfortable, and skylights brought warm natural light into both the room and bathroom. We had a wonderful stay and can't wait to return. Highly recommend Hotel Galena.
