Ideal Beach resort has been a tradition for my family and many others in the area for decades. It’s now very hard to book, and the available dates aren’t what they used to be. They’ve taken away our ability to keep up the tradition, which is really disappointing for those of us who’ve enjoyed the place for years.
Our Child Family reunion had so much room to make memories. There was always some activity happening, lots of open space, and a great beach beside what I think is Utah’s greatest lake. Thanks from the bottom of my heart to the kind staff and everyone who helped make this weekend part of our family history for generations to come! ❤️
The whole facility was very well kept, and the rooms worked great for our extended family. It was a great place to spend a few days. The only thing I could’ve done without was the fire system self-check at 3am.
There’s a lot to do here: mini golf, crafts, bike riding, evening walks, water sports, games, and plenty of open lawn for playing. The beach is clean and sandy with lots of room, the water is always lovely, and the pools are kept clean. The rooms may look a little dated, but they’ve done a great job keeping them renovated and clean. There’s a small store, and restaurants and shopping are close by. I’ve been coming to Ideal Beach Resort for 30 years and love it. My only real frustration is booking. Prices vary, getting certain dates can be tricky, and I’ve heard different information depending on who answers the phone. Third-party bookings add complications, and we were double charged once. The resort worked with us to put it right, though, and I’ll keep bringing my family for years.
The lake is gorgeous and the resort’s proximity to it is hard to beat, but Ideal Beach badly needs a facelift. Our three-bedroom, three-bath unit with a loft was so outdated it looked unclean. Water pressure was awful, so showering meant jumping in and out of scalding hot water. The electric stove had no burner elements that fit, leaving us cooking on a slant. I did appreciate the AC. At checkout, I left three empty water bottles and forgot a duffle with clothes and a laptop bag. When I called, they said I’d owe an extra $125 cleaning fee for retrieving my things and taking out the bottles. They also said I could only get my belongings back if I paid. The lake was fabulous. Ideal Beach sucked, but it’s the only game in town.
