Patio Motel

For the price, this place is a steal. It’s tucked into a quiet corner of the City of Gardena, with a little hole-in-the-wall bar next door. The rooms are clean and have a stylish, modern feel, plus a nice bathroom, extra-large flat-screen TVs, AC, different lighting options, and charging ports. There’s also an eating area, walk-in closet, mini fridge, and microwave. I love this affordable spot. It’s a hidden gem.

The parking situation was my main frustration. There aren’t enough dedicated spaces, and the ones available are tight because people squeeze into whatever they can find. Several spots that could serve motel guests are reserved for the separate bar and grill on the property, and most sat empty when I was there. From what I saw, people mostly walked to the place, so those spaces should be open to motel guests. Inside, the room was clean, with a comfortable bed, a large fridge with separate freezer space, and more charging ports than I’ve seen in any other motel or hotel room. I could have charged six devices at once. The shutters were my favorite feature: they let me control privacy and daylight really well. I also liked the paint colors and the big canvas photo above the bed. The trim and baseboards were grubby and due for paint, but I didn’t see any bugs during the week. The AC was loud, but it worked very well, and I sleep with earplugs anyway. I stayed a full week as a woman traveling alone and felt safe. The neighborhood looked gritty, but much of the LA area did to me, so I’m not sure that’s a useful way to judge safety. Other reviews mentioned noise or altercations; I experienced neither. I only heard voices a couple of times, with my window open. The front desk staff were efficient, if not especially warm or unfriendly. There’s a $20 cash deposit on arrival, returned when you check out at the desk, so don’t leave your key card in the room and walk away unless you’re okay losing the $20. I’d rather do that than have $100 per night held on a card for 3-5 business days. There’s an ATM in the lobby if you arrive without cash. The exterior and shared areas are worn, but I had a positive stay and would consider coming back.

I WILL FILE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THIS MOTEL IN 07/2026. THEY RECORD VISITORS, WHICH IS A SERIOUS PRIVACY VIOLATION. DIGITAL FOOTPRINTS ARE NEVER DELETED AND CAN BE TRACED. EVERYONE INVOLVED WILL FACE FEDERAL CHARGES.

There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and the rooms are spacious with beds comfortable enough for a short stay. It’s an affordable, functional place with a no-frills feel. The staff were friendly, although check-in took longer than I expected. A decent budget option.
