InTown Suites Extended Stay Raleigh Garner NC

Getting anywhere in Garner by bus means going all the way downtown first, which makes no sense when the motel is already in Garner. The room was filthy when we moved in, including the floors, bathroom, and walls. We also found one or two bed bugs, and the blanket was dirty and never replaced. You have to wash it yourself, along with the towels, in their laundry room. There is basically no housekeeping: once a week they make the bed and sweep the room. This is the cheapest motel in Raleigh/Garner for a reason. Skip it if you're visiting.

I had a terrible experience from the start. They messed up my first reservation at the one on capital Blvd. When I got there after work, I was told there were no rooms because the housekeepers hadn't come in, so I was left looking for somewhere to sleep. At the other property, the room was nasty, smelled bad, had a roach, and the carpet hadn't been vacuumed. The receptionist was the only pleasant person; the property manager was rude. I brought him the dead roach, and he picked it up with his hand. When I left early because my job was done and asked him about a refund for the unused days, he said they rent by the week and don't refund, then hung up. I was also unable to get money back for the days I didn't stay. Just a bad experience all around.

The manager's conduct left me feeling unsafe. One afternoon, while I was alone working remotely, he knocked, then forcefully pushed the door inward as soon as I opened it, swinging it wide so he could see the whole room. It was completely unprompted, and I felt violated. No guest should be put in that position. My boyfriend and I stayed for several weeks last summer, and the room had an obvious, ongoing bed bug infestation, not just one or two bugs. It looked like the hotel had tried and failed to treat the problem before we arrived. When we reported it, the staff acted as though it was no surprise and showed almost no concern. Between the bugs, their dismissive response to a serious health issue, and the manager's inappropriate behavior, I can't recommend this hotel. Stay away if you care about your comfort, safety, or skin.

Steve's a good person. The rooms are comfy, and when the bathroom sink gave me trouble, Steve fixed it in a few minutes.
