Tru by Hilton Georgetown

The room was small for the price. You’d expect somewhere to unpack, like a closet or even a dresser, but there was only one small chair and a tiny desk, which is crazy for a family of four. The hotel was clean, though. It’s right by a major highway, so a room facing it can be loud, and the air conditioner was noisy too. I had to put a bag on top of it to stop the rattling.

I found bed bugs in the sheets, and I’m so disappointed. Most staff members are very nice, but most aren’t. Maybe you can’t use whipped cream for anything besides pancakes, but that rule is stupid on a whole new level. This was my first and last time here. The rooms are decent for about four people, but there’s no microwave, the trash cans are too small, and the refrigerator is tiny. You might not agree with my personal opinion, and that’s okay. Do better, please! Other hotels like Cambria have that kind of stuff, but Tru does not. Y’all better do something about this.

Both rooms we stayed in were impressively clean and comfortable. The Art Deco-inspired colors gave them a stylish, modern feel, so the experience was pleasant.

The reservation mix-up could have made for a miserable stay, but Rene sorted it out the next day. She contacted CLC, fixed the issue, and made sure the charge from the night before was refunded. I’d arrived late after a long workday and drive, and the hotel couldn’t find my CLC reservation, so I put it on my personal card because I was exhausted. I really appreciate how far Rene went to help, and how professionally she handled it.
