The bed was hard and uncomfortable, and noise from the nearby interstate made the room loud. There wasn’t a coffee pot, and the lobby door stayed locked, so the vending machines were out of reach. The shower head leaked and sprayed water all over the floor, and the room smelled bad enough that I used my Lysol. There were several cracks in the walls, and the toilet looked as if it had been pulled away from the wall. The woman at the desk was rude. A man quoted one price, but she charged me more. Think hard before booking.

They didn’t bring towels or washcloths after I asked twice, and after several requests for toilet paper, I ended up buying my own. When I told them at checkout how filthy and unsanitary the place was, they were rude. I took photos to help save other people from wasting their money. There were blood stains on the mattress, mold on the chairs, and live wires hanging down. They also changed the price without telling us, charged the full per-night rate to my son’s card after quoting him a price for two nights, and wouldn’t give us a receipt until checkout. I wouldn’t let my dog sleep there.

The inside has been newly renovated and was very clean. My small room had a king bed that was the most comfortable I’ve slept on in a motel, as good as or better than the Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn. It sits high off the floor, which I like, though some people might not. The owner was friendly, and it was quiet on Saturday night, so I slept peacefully. The outside looks old and run down and needs an update like the rooms. I didn’t want to stay at first, but everything else was booked, so I took a chance. Looks can fool you. Best stay I’ve had at this price, and I’d stay again if I needed a room.

We checked in around 8 or 9pm after the man quoted $61 plus taxes, but my card was charged $78. Later, when I called to ask about checkout, he told me 2pm. I remember because I said that was great. In the morning, a woman banged on our door and said checkout was 11am and we had five minutes to leave. She argued with my husband. Half an hour later, the man who checked us in insisted he’d said 11am, claiming 2pm was check-in time. Why would he tell me the check-in time when we’d already checked in that evening? He then charged another $30 for us to stay until 2pm. Horrible experience. Never again.
