Motel 6 - President Inn

The room was comfortable and very clean, with a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. The front desk service was good, too. I was happy with it.

President's Inn & Suites is actually inside the city, so you can walk on sidewalks in every direction and reach all sorts of places around town. From here, you can walk safely to Culp's Hill and Spanglers Spring, then finish at the Visitor Center. Shuttles often run for the return trip, but check the schedule. Uber is hit or miss in the area, though the Front Desk should have numbers for local transportation companies. Many offer reasonably priced rides to airports, nearby towns, cities, and other destinations. The owners, management, and staff are professional and focused on guests, and the rooms are a great value for an in-town stay. The location is a real plus: other hotels that advertise walking distance to downtown Gettysburg and the National Military Park may look close on a map, but walking along Lincoln Highway for over a mile, day or night, isn’t recommended.

We only needed somewhere to sleep and shower for a night or two, and this was fine for the low price. The room was a good size, and both it and the bathroom and sink area were exceptionally clean. It was pretty bare-bones, though. The carpet throughout the hotel, especially in the elevator, looked dated and needed a proper cleaning. A reasonable option for a quick visit.

The rooms feel dated, but they’re spacious and the beds are decent. It’s near downtown Gettysburg without being right on the busy square. For an inexpensive place to stay while you’re visiting, it’s a reasonable choice.
