Chariot Inn Glendale - Pasadena

The good parts are the location and a few basics in the room. Glendale is a quaint city, and there’s a spectacular shopping center about 10 minutes away. The receptionist was very nice, check-in was quick, and the room was spacious even with a king bed. It had a TV, fridge, and microwave, and there was plenty of hot water. It’s a simple room, which can be fine. But the room wasn’t fully clean. Paint was peeling, and there was dust near the AC and appliances. The shower stayed weak no matter which setting I tried. Then I found the biggest roach I’ve ever seen. It laid an egg when I tried to kill it, which left me worrying there could be more. When I told the male receptionist, he casually said he’d inform housekeeping and that they spray once a month. That response was concerning, especially since I had evidence. After I pleaded for another room, they moved me to one that was supposedly a king, but was smaller. I felt punished for reporting the roach, and dirty even after cleaning up. The price was outrageous for a lousy room and what felt like inadequate pest control. I paid over 120 a night and was left worrying about roaches in the rest of the building. If you’re staying in the LA area, there are better and cheaper options. Don’t waste your time and money here unless you’re in the pest control business.
