Motel 6 Milwaukee, WI - Glendale

The young man at the counter was kind and helpful the whole time, and I appreciate that he and the manager refunded me. He tried to sort things out, but the problems were bigger than he could fix. That's the only positive I can offer. The place felt very unsafe. At check-in, I was handed a full page of rules to initial. My travel partner was also asked for ID even though the reservation and card were in my name. The dated lobby had a makeshift plexiglass divider, and the rules made it seem like they'd had trouble before. My first room smelled strongly of stale cigarettes. I checked the bed and didn't see anything, but then noticed the window screen was broken away and the windows had no locks. The clerk moved me to another room. There was paint on the floor and cigarette wrappers scattered around, and that room's window couldn't lock either. I tried to make do until I saw that. Another guest was complaining about his room in the lobby, so I gave up and asked for a refund. The clerk had offered a room on another floor, but I left instead.

Chad was the one who really stood out. On an extremely busy day, he stayed calm while helping several customers and dealing with burst pipes and water gushing from the bathroom sink in my room. The whole staff was friendly and gave great service. I travel a lot and have stayed at many places overnight, and this has been the best location I've visited.

Melissa has such a sweet heart and a wonderful personality. She was respectful and lovely, and I really liked her even though it was my first time meeting her.

Nelly at the front desk got me checked in quickly. My room was tidy and clean, and there was free coffee and Wi-Fi plus a microwave for guests to use. I had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.
