Getting around was easy for our family: the hot springs, Vapor caves, and restaurants were all walkable, two of us drove to Vail to snowboard, and another took the local bus to Aspen for the day. The hotel has a lot of history, and the rooms have been refreshed. It is an old building, so hot water takes a little while. The steam heat worked well. I turned it on in the bathroom, left that door open, and the room warmed up without getting unbearable. The beds were comfortable. We had great service. The front desk loaned us towels for the hot springs, housekeeping cleaned our room every day, and room service arrived quickly when we were too tired to go out. We liked the restaurant too, especially the wild game sliders with bison, boar, elk, and rabbit. They allow dogs for $50 a night, less than boarding would cost. We didn't bring ours, but it was lovely seeing dogs around the hotel and treats waiting for them at reception. The only drawback for us, especially with kids, was that the TV didn't offer Netflix or other streaming. Still, it worked well for anything from a family trip to a solo visit or a weekend with friends. We'll be back.

The staff were good, and the cheesecake alone may bring me back. It was dense, full of flavor, and just how cheesecake should be. For dinner, the Bison Rueben was spot on, with lean slices of corned bison and nicely tangy sauerkraut. I had asparagus on the side, cooked perfectly. I came to the restaurant because another hotel recommended it, and the food was really good. A great choice if you're after a really good restaurant.

Our balcony had an amazing view, and both the lobby and rooms were beautiful. On our first night Joey gave us a tour and shared so much about the hotel's history. He did a great job. Jeremy and Kipp at the bar were delightful, and the front desk team was wonderful and helpful too. We had such a great stay and plan to come back at least once a year.

We loved hearing all the interesting facts about this very old hotel. Its age shows in the heating and in how long it takes the water to get hot, so it's a better fit if you enjoy history than if you need everything modern. The first night we slept soundly, probably because we were worn out from the drive. The next night we could hear footsteps from the guests above us, and the heating system sometimes made noises that woke us. We didn't need much help during our stay, but the service we did get was great. We called when we realized we'd be checking in very late, around 1 a.m., and the staff were receptive. We were given an unexpected room upgrade, though it didn't feel like much of an upgrade to us. As a couple, we weren't sure what to do with two rooms sharing one bathroom. My guess is that since the bathroom doors didn't lock in the room we had, they let us use both rooms.

Hotel Colorado's historic character gave our celebration such a memorable feel, and the team made each space look just as we'd pictured it. Everything ran smoothly from Friday's welcome reception through Saturday's wedding and Sunday's farewell brunch. The food and beverage crew handled the rehearsal dinner, reception, and brunch beautifully. Service was right on time, the presentation and details were spot-on, and our guests are still talking about the food. The bartender at the wedding was a huge hit. The team stood out from our very first venue tours. They listened to what we wanted and were enthusiastic and flexible about making it our own. Alta, the site manager, was organized, attentive, and supportive all the way through. Her professionalism and care made the planning feel effortless. We got married at Hotel Colorado in November 2025 and couldn't have asked for a better venue. Thanks to the team, our guests had an amazing weekend we'll never forget. We can't recommend the place enough.
