Super 8 Grand Forks

The room and bathroom were clean, and the beds were comfy. Breakfast is still bagged, with fruit, yogurt, a granola bar, and OJ. A note for the staff: you were so kind and thoughtful about our requests. The kitchen smelled awful, though, so please look into it.

I stayed for a total of 8 days, renting by the week. The clean, basic king room had a soft bed, and while the hotel shows some wear, it's kept up well. The room didn't get cleaned on its assigned day, so I'd have rated it higher otherwise. The coffee was gross, but that's pretty standard for a place at this level. 3.5 stars.

I got a cheap rate, but I won't come back here or stay at another Super 8 after this. Even for one night, I'd suggest finding somewhere else. Both front desk clerks I dealt with were rude and seemed standoffish, and I had to ring the bell almost every time to get their attention. My room was VERY cramped, and the AC was faulty, with half the air-pushing blades missing. There was only half a roll of TP and the towels had very obvious feces stains. The longer I ran the AC, the worse the room smelled. It put out a damp mist, and I had to wash all my clothes after leaving. There was no breakfast or coffee, and my room wasn't serviced at all during my 4-day stay. I understand the COVID situation, but nobody offered more TP or towels.

The beds were lumpy, the dresser drawer was broken, and the fridge had a small freezing compartment iced over. The toilets hadn't been cleaned properly, the room needed a lot of attention, and the whole place was awful. We left without staying, and I wouldn't recommend it. The staff member seemed surprised that we didn't stay. Definitely not up to Wyndham Standards.
