Budget Inn

The place was dirty, and there was no heat in the freezing cold. At the desk, the night woman charged my friend, said he didn’t have enough on his card, charged him again, and took the rest of his money. She then lectured him about how much he had in his account. The original and later charges are documented, but she still refused to give him the room, saying he couldn’t pay. It’s unreal how people treat someone who’s down on their luck. Don’t stay here, no matter how cheap. She was rude and should be let go. Terrible people.

For $89/night, I expected a little more, even knowing it was cheap. We’re two adults and one kiddo, and the room has had several problems: we’ve needed the breakers reset twice, the tub won’t hold water, the shower doesn’t run fully, and the bedside wall outlet doesn’t work at all. There were cracker crumbs on the bed when we arrived. It’s still 80 outside, but the AC barely works either. The one window doesn’t lock and wasn’t sitting on its track right. Definitely a stop-and-go kind of place.

The room felt so dirty that I had to wash my hands about five times while I was in there. The bed looked worn and as if it hadn’t been properly made after someone slept in it. There were old leftovers in the fridge, and one of the garbage cans already had someone else’s trash in it.

I booked this place to save money, but I won’t stay here again, even for free. I’d rather pay more for a better hotel or sleep in my Jeep. The listing said the front desk was open 24 hours, and I’d noted an arrival between 11:30 and midnight. After ringing the bell and waiting several minutes, I checked in, only to be told it was late and the desk was closing, so I’d have to wait until morning for anything I needed. The room was tiny, cold, filthy, musty, and moldy, and it smelled like someone had smoked two packs a day in there for 20 years. Dust set off my allergies badly. There was peeling paint, broken lights, and a thin, stained bedspread. The full size bed they gave me was not the king I reserved. I could hear the next room going at it until 2:00 in the morning. Dirty linen bags were left outside my door all the time, along with an overflowing garbage can swarming with yellow jackets. The shower had excellent water pressure, but the curtain was mildewed and moldy. The air conditioner’s electrical ground wire was dangling, and the room was so cramped I couldn’t fully open the small fridge because it was too close to the bed. I take no joy in leaving a negative review. It seems like a small family business, but I feel I paid a fair price and got a crap product. I felt totally ripped off.
