The breakfast was a couple of bagels, some bread for the toaster, and cereal that looked like it might be raisin bran. Even with that meager selection, signs warned of a $150 fine for taking food out of the breakfast room. There were warning signs all over, including at least four in the lobby telling guests to report pets. Our room was just okay. The blankets had stains, though the bed wasn’t too uncomfortable, and we could hear everything outside. The fridge and microwave worked, and the water pressure was good. There were some sketchy people outside. I had to wait a few minutes for the desk clerk to arrive, and he wasn’t very friendly. After check-in, he watched us carry our things to the room, which creeped my son out. I wasn’t impressed and wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it.

We checked out very early because the room was in such bad shape. The tub, carpet, walls, and doors were filthy; the TV and refrigerator didn’t work, there were no hangers, and there was a hole in the wall. The iron’s electric cord was disgustingly dirty. Outside, there was dog feces in the hallway and a broken, loose stair on the stairway. We had reservations for two starting January 28 at the Days Inn in Grand Junction, Colorado. At check-in, we were assigned ground-floor room #334, where a broken window had been taped over with a plastic bag, the floor was filthy, and the bathroom light didn’t work. We asked for a different room and got #229 on the second floor. The sheets seemed clean, and we were extremely tired, so we stayed that night. We took pictures and would love to send them to Wyndham corporate. My husband and I are extremely disappointed that Wyndham allows Days Inn to be in this condition.

The toilet base was so disgusting I felt like throwing up. I was scared to touch the shower because it looked like it hadn’t been scrubbed in ages, and there was someone else’s hair along the edge. I’m not expecting anything fancy from a cheaper hotel or motel, but a three-star rating just doesn’t fit. I’ve stayed in cheaper two-star places that were clean and had more attentive staff. Be mindful of what you book, I guess, and learn from my bad experience. I don’t know if this review will help, but at least other readers will know. The first room had dirty bedding and towels and a fairly big hole in the wall, so I asked to move. The second room was just as dirty, if not worse. I even had pictures of the first one. Whoever cleans these rooms doesn’t know how to clean. Honestly, this was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. I’ve been in hotels with worse reviews that were cleaner and had better staff response. Truly disappointing.

The room looked dirty, and the TV wouldn’t turn on. At check-in, we saw a couple of cockroaches scurrying across the floor. There were no cups at the sink and only two hand towels. The phone didn’t work, so we couldn’t call the front desk for more towels. Nobody was there when we went to the desk at 7am, or when we returned at 8 am.

We watched the cleaning lady leave our room as we walked up, so there’s really no excuse for how filthy it was. The sheets and towels were dirty, and the bathroom was so gross we didn’t even shower. Dust, dirt, and grime built up across every surface. This was the dirtiest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. The night before, I stayed at a two-star place that was 10x better because at least it was clean. You’re not getting a deal here. Keep your money and save your peace of mind. Days inn, please take a hard look at these rooms. Guests keep the place running, so maybe make it somewhere they’d want to stay.
