Baymont by Wyndham Grand Rapids Airport

The front desk clerk was about to leave, but she still took time to replace the batteries in our TV remote. That extra effort stood out. The staff were all really nice, and our room was clean. The hotel was convenient for my boyfriend’s conference and close enough for me to visit the zoo and Meijer Gardens. We’d happily stay again.

We left another hotel for this one, and that turned out to be the right call. The room was clean and clearly well maintained, with housekeeping happening regularly. The front desk was pleasant and helpful, and the place felt safe and good for families. Breakfast was pretty basic, but it’s a handy option if you’d rather not spend money elsewhere or head out early.

We were glad to be there for just one night. The shared areas looked neglected, with dust on the trim, peeling wallpaper, and dirty doors. In our first room, the tub wouldn’t drain, the sink stopper was missing, and the hot water handle was loose with a really bad caulk job. We changed rooms, and the next one was only marginally better. Breakfast choices were limited, and there was no water, just juice and coffee. This hotel was terrible and not clean.

It’s fine if you need an affordable bed for one night. You get what you pay for, and the hotel could use a thorough cleaning and fresh paint. For a short, budget stay, it does the job.
