We lasted five minutes before moving to the Drury Inn next door. It cost more, but was far better. They refunded us right away, which we appreciated, probably because they knew how bad the room was. It hadn't been swept, the tub was moldy, and the toilet still had urine, fecal matter, and hair from the previous guest. The sheets were stained and had cigarette burns, and the surfaces were sticky and dirty. This place should be reported to the health and business authorities in Grand Rapids. Don't stay here. Pay extra for the Drury next door.

The first review I posted was right after check-in, when the guy was very nice. The room itself was filthy, though. A rug about 4' x 4' by the door was completely soaked, the bathroom sink wouldn't drain, and I had to spit my toothpaste into a cup and then empty it into the toilet. The heater blasted hot air no matter the setting, so I kept turning it on and off all night trying to get comfortable. I skipped the shower because the room creeped me out, and the TV was small. Never again. I should've spent $25 more.

We asked for a first-floor room, but that reservation got messed up. The room had a tiny desk and no chair, so I had to borrow one from the lobby, and it still didn't fit well in the cramped space. There was a leftover package of frozen chicken in the fridge/freezer, and chunks of wood or laminate were missing from several pieces of furniture. The sheets, blankets, and pillowcases were stained, which made sleeping on them disgusting. I could keep listing things. It wasn't even one of the cheapest options, and I would never consider staying here.

The only upsides were that it was cheap and dog friendly. The place has really gone downhill over the roughly 8 years since I was last there. My room was depressing and run-down, smelled strongly of old cigarettes, and had a desk riddled with burn holes. There was mold in the shower, a disgusting mattress, and what looked like boogers all over the wall. I hope I never end up back there.
