Rodeway Inn Grand Rapids

We needed a modest room, and that’s what we got. The room itself was clean and had no old-smoke smell. There was a brief stale smoke odor in the hallway, maybe left over from before the new carpeting, but it only lasted about 27 seconds while walking through. Everything was clean, which is always my wife’s main concern. It was just right for us.

The only good part was the staff member who seemed to be doing everything. They were nice, but the room was a horrible experience, even for a 10-minute stay. It was small and smelled awful, with stains on the beds. The shower handle was broken, there was a hole in the shower, and I saw bed bugs. The stench was so bad I felt like I couldn’t breathe. I would NOT recommend staying here.

I need to correct the review I sent a few days ago by mistake. I loved my stay at Rodeway Grand Rapids. The room was very clean, the bed was really comfortable, and the staff were kind and accommodating. Thank you!

The noise from a party across the hall was frustrating, and the deposit takes up to 13 days to come back because it’s processed as a refund. For a hotel costing over $100 a night, that left me disappointed. When I did complain, though, the issue was handled promptly each time.
