The staff were quite friendly, so it wasn't a terrible stay, and I can see this hotel having potential. But my room was freezing when I arrived on a bitter January day, and it took hours to warm up. The door deadbolt didn't work, and both the pool and hot tub were out of order. There wasn't even an ice machine. Breakfast was supposed to be open at 6, but at 6:30 there was nothing set out. I also found it odd that housekeepers were still working into the evening. It just isn't there yet.

I called Country Inn and Suites by Radisson in Grand Rapids, MN the day before booking and asked if the pool was open. They said yes, without mentioning the hotel's water break or that everything was down. I don't care how cheap it is, I wouldn't recommend this place to family or friends after being lied to. I also asked staff for a letter so Super.com could refund me for the unavailable amenities, since no one had told me before I booked, but they didn't help. AmericInn staff told me the hotel had been going downhill since a new owner took over and that its pool had been down for almost a year. If you're visiting Grand Rapids for nature, family, or friends, I'd choose another hotel. I will never stay at Country Inn and Suites by Radisson again.

The room mix-ups were the worst part. We arrived at 6:30 pm, though check-in started at 3, and were given a key to a room that hadn't been cleaned. We waited until 9:30 to get in. Later, after reporting a leaking sink pipe and asking to move, the morning worker said room 111 should have been out of order and we never should have been put there. That explained why it wasn't ready in the first place. We were told another room would be ready by noon, but when we returned around 3:30, room 108 was also dirty, with full bins, messy linens, and towels on the floor. The third room had just been cleaned and was better, though the bathroom fan light cover was missing, the entry light didn't work, and one outlet was dead. In the first room, the carpet was filthy, there was no hand soap, the TV didn't work, and the too-small fitted sheet kept coming off because there was no mattress protector. We also hadn't been told when booking that the pool, hot tub, and ice machines were out of service, which was a big letdown for the child. The front desk staff were also doing housekeeping. This was horrible and not worth the money. In my opinion, even a Super 8 would have been better.

Judy and Jeremy were so kind and took great care of us. The rooms were clean and everything felt perfect. They've really stepped up their game, and my family and I will keep staying here whenever we're in Grand Rapids.

The pool and hot tub weren't working, and it didn't look like they'd be fixed soon. Our first room had blood on the floor, and the pillows and blankets had just been tossed over dirty sheets. The second room wasn't much better. Then the next morning, while we were still inside, a woman unlocked the door and walked in. One of the worst hotel stays I've had. This place is a dump. Beware.
