Arena del Mar

It’s an older motel with cabins, and someone’s clearly been putting work into updating it. The beach is a pretty short walk compared with many Washington beach hotels. The beds were really comfortable, and the pillows were decent enough.

We’ve stayed here three times, twice in the beachfront building. This last time we were in cabin 6, and I was very disappointed. It was tiny, with only a bed and nowhere to sit or put a table. The hairdryer didn’t work, and shower tiles came loose and stuck to my feet because they weren’t properly set into the floor. When I told the maid about the tiles, she said she already knew and had been asking them to fix it for a long time. They rented out a room knowing it wasn’t properly set up. I’m handicapped, and if I’d fallen in that shower I could have been seriously hurt. Very disappointing.

We had a lovely stay in a two-bedroom cabin with our dogs. The cabins are a short walk from the beach, and we had it to ourselves. The interiors are cute and comfortable, even though the outsides of the buildings aren’t much to look at. The staff were really friendly, and Westport’s small strip of restaurants and shops is just a short drive away. The international mermaid museum is about 15 minutes toward Aberdeen.

My husband and I booked a cabin on a whim for one night, and it turned out to be such a cozy, adorable place. There’s also a little hotel down the road with an amazing beach view. The room, beach, and customer service were all wonderful, and the price was affordable for a relaxing getaway. We’d love to come back for a longer stay. Thanks for the hospitality! 💜 -The Martins
