Royal Motel

I stayed here a long time ago, and the poor reviews seem justified. It looks about as bad as you’d expect. There’s a room with a window facing the neighboring business’s exterior wall, with only a narrow gap between the buildings. At present, police are trying to identify a person whose body they found in the bushes, apparently pushed out of that window by motel guests.

The manager is extremely rude, and the place is dirty and full of drugs. Nothing gets done or cleaned. The towels they give you are dirty, half the amenities don’t work, and the carpet smells like mildew from leaking pipes. The toilets don’t flush. If I wanted to feel like I was in a homeless shelter, I’d have looked for one. I wouldn’t give this place even one star.

The owner doesn’t care what goes on as long as nobody bothers him, and the place is run by someone who uses crack. Most of the people they rent to do too. Even the rooms that are supposed to be nice are awful, and the electrical system is messed up. After a shower, the tub fills with water and takes hours to drain. They open your mail before handing it over, if the manager even decides you have mail. Total rip-off. I wouldn’t give any stars, but the site requires one.

My family and I have been staying here for about two years, and the best thing is how Lisa, the manager, has made it feel like home. I love the improvements she’s made, and everyone is so nice. There are no drugs here. I’d truly recommend this place to someone.
