The room had a nice king bed, a dresser with a large TV, a minibar nook with a microwave and small fridge, and one little luggage bench. There wasn’t even a chair, though, and it felt smaller than a typical chain hotel room. We’d paid for a King Suite for two nights because we hoped to gather with friends around the wedding events, but there was no couch, desk area, or table and chairs, none of the space we expected from a suite. We didn’t make a fuss while we were there since the resort was busy with weddings and our schedule left no time to ask for another room. My wife and I were visiting for an early summer wedding and had a nice trip, just not the one we expected for what we paid. I’d rate the service a 5, except our request for an extra checkout hour to get moving in the morning got an immediate no. It seemed like a fine hotel and resort, but don’t count on getting the room shown in the picture.

The hotel restaurant was just okay, and I’d bring seasoning if you want more flavor in the food. The front desk clerk was friendly when we checked in Friday night, April 24, 2026, and explained what the hotel offered. Our two-bed queen balcony suite was smaller than expected, and the shower was so cramped there wasn’t enough room to move around and soap up. The lake flies were everywhere, so we couldn’t enjoy the balcony or the lake view. Opening the door would have let them into the room too. At that price, the stay was only okay and not what I’d expected. Bring bug spray.

The views and outdoor areas were hard to beat, and the hotel itself is gorgeous with an elevated feel. Our room was spacious, clean, and didn’t feel dated. Everyone we met was friendly, helpful, and professional. We’ll definitely come back.

Kymberlee printed some papers I needed for a conference, and the maintenance crew helped sort out a problem with my car. They were so kind and generous. I really enjoyed my stay: clean rooms, comfortable beds, and a gorgeous view. I’d recommend the place to anyone.

The relaxing atmosphere and beautiful Green Lake sunsets keep us coming back to Heidel House. We especially enjoy the quality bar service, and the wine and bourbon selections give us something new to try throughout the year. Feel free to use my photos however you like.
