For a one night, very cheap stay while attending a wedding, this place worked out well. The front desk staff were exceptional and accommodating. The rooms are dated and smelled a little like smoke, but manageable. The shower water stayed hot for ages, and the free breakfast in the morning had eggs, meats, bagels, coffee, oatmeal, and more, a nice touch. For the price, it’s not bad at all. We saw places down the road with a similar dated look charging $200/night, and we’d stay here again if we needed another short stay. I think many negative reviews come from people expecting a five star all inclusive resort, which this wasn’t.

The biggest drawback for me was how few outlets there were, so I wouldn’t use this as a work base or if you need to plug in a lot of devices. The internet was great and the staff friendly. It’s an average roadside motel type place, not disgusting, but showing its age. The bed and towels were clean.

For the price in the Pittsfield area, this is hard to beat, especially for an affordable summer visit. It’s an older, outdated hotel, not a luxury property, but the rooms are comfortable and have the necessities, including flat screens, microwaves, and mini fridge. I’ve stayed many times, and my room has always been clean and ready. Staff make sure you have what you need.

The facilities are good, but the rooms don’t seem to be preheated when you book. Expect to be cold while the baseboards slowly warm the whole room, which can take 3 to 5 hours. There also doesn’t seem to be enough support for salting the pavement to prevent slips, falls, or cars sliding down the sloped driveway.

For a quick visit or an overnight after a show at Tanglewood, you could do worse, though spending a bit more could get you a lot better. The nightly price is low, there’s a continental breakfast, and it’s near the main road, restaurants, and shops. The breakfast is very meager, though, and the room we saw while visiting family was dusty. The hotel is hard to see from the road. It has a pool, but in December it wasn’t usable for us, and it looked very poorly winterized. That makes me wonder if seasonal upkeep is lacking too.
