We stayed one night, February 4-5, and left at 6 the next morning. The room was nasty, with dirt on the floor and hair all over the bathroom. The tub clogged every time we showered, and the toilet seat was falling off. The door barely locked. The other guests' children ran and teased my dog at our door, keeping us up until 2 a.m. My dog was good until they started. I called the front desk, but they did nothing. They advertised breakfast, but all they had was toast, cold muffins, and coffee that tasted like dirt. The staff were so bad it didn't seem worth talking to them. They quoted $58 a night and said a pet would cost only $10, but charged us almost $90 for the night. It was too late to find another place, so we had no choice but to pay. This is the worst hotel ever in North Carolina. I'd never return or recommend it to anyone, not even a school of dogs. Be safe.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, even if all you need is a place to rest. The room stank when I walked in, and there was a blood stain on the bedding. I didn't get my refund or deposit back, and the woman argued with me. You could hear everything from the bathroom, as if the room were right in traffic. The service and communication were horrible, and the whole place was disgusting. They have bed bugs. They accused me of smoking weed and asked for my vehicle information, then went through my car without permission. I would not stay here.
There were cockroaches in the room and fridge, and stink bugs by the windows. When I complained, the Indiana lady “Nina” was very rude and moved us from 208 to the room next door, 209. There were bugs around the windows and bed frame there too. They wouldn't let me speak to the manager and said to call around 3 p.m. the next day. When I did, I was told the manager had left for an emergency and wouldn't be back for a month. Sure. Terrible experience. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. I took videos of the cockroaches, but Google only lets me upload pictures.
The one good thing is the location, and the place was very clean. But the room was 92 degrees when we arrived and took four hours to reach 75. The fridge was unplugged on purpose, and took another four hours to get cold enough for the things we needed to keep chilled. You can't turn on a bedside lamp without the main ceiling light coming on too. There were just eight channels on the horribly outdated TV. The stay was outrageously priced for how dated it was. Spend a few more bucks and stay somewhere upgraded.
We booked this for our 24th anniversary, but I won't book here again. The woman at check-in was pretty ignorant. She asked if we smoked because we had a non-smoking room. We said yes, but that we'd never smoke in the room and don't even smoke at home. She replied with attitude that it would cost $250 if we did. The property looked run down, with rusty metal stairs up to room 213, but when we first went in, the room seemed nice and clean. We overlooked the exterior, then noticed a chair in front of a locked door next to another room. When we moved it to check the door for our safety, grown-up diapers were shoved underneath. In the morning, after getting out of bed, I saw what looked like tar all over the comforter under the top layer. The listing promised complimentary breakfast, but there was only coffee and apples. We left early. I wish I could post pictures of the diapers and the mess on the comforter, but this review app doesn't offer that option.
