Baymont by Wyndham Greenville

Check-in was quick, but the street and highway noise kept coming through all night. There were five of us, yet they gave us only two towels and said they were out of washcloths, even though only five other rooms were booked. We also struggled to get toilet paper. The roll started with less than half, and the front desk woman didn't want to give us more. One of us got a rash from the bed. Not worth $100 a night.

I'm picky about hotels and usually don't like them, but this place was surprisingly clean. The shower curtain smelled freshly washed as soon as I pulled it back, and the towels and washcloths had a slight bleach smell, which I like because it tells me they've been cleaned. No complaints about this motel.

I only needed a place to sleep, and the clean room did the job. I booked through AARP and got a really good price, so I knew what to expect. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, though my last two stays were at Marriott and Double Tree, so maybe I shouldn't have expected the same. The door had a minor issue, but they fixed it right away. I'm an Environmental Services Manager, and the room was clean.

The location was great, but I wouldn't recommend this dump. Our first room's TV didn't get any of the listed channels, so the woman offered to move us. She just straightened the beds we'd been sitting on while we waited for the next customer. The room we moved to was filthy. The microwave and front of the fridge hadn't been wiped, the ice bucket tray was dusty, and the doors and wall beside the bed needed cleaning too. I'm a smoker, but even I expect someone to take pride in cleaning up. I washed the toilet seat with soap and water because it didn't feel clean. The beds were the best part, they slept well.
