Comfort Inn Greenville - Haywood Mall

We've stayed here three times over three years. Each time the rooms, sheets, and pillows have been clean and fresh, and you can see the bathrooms are being upgraded. Check-in has always been pleasant and helpful, especially when we've asked about nearby services, like the short drive to Shriners Children's Hospital for an appointment. I do agree that some checkout staff could communicate better and need stronger customer service skills.

The hallways smelled like weed, and the place was dirty. What really spoiled the stay for me was being told I couldn't take breakfast to my room. I can bring dinner leftovers back or pick up lunch and eat it in my room, but breakfast isn't allowed. It's the dumbest rule. I overpaid for a room and still couldn't eat there.

My son spilled a little juice on the bed, and now they're saying the bed is ruined and won't return our deposit. The mattress is fine because there's a waterproof sheet on it. They'd only need to wash it. It feels like housekeeping doesn't want to clean the rooms, so we're losing our deposit over this. If you stay here, be careful not to spill anything on the bed and make sure you clean your room before you leave, or you might not get your deposit back.

I asked for a wake-up call and never got one, so I was late to my daughter's game. Staff were extremely rude and didn't communicate well with each other. They also kept giving me different answers about the deposit: one person said it would take 24 hours after checkout, others said 3-5 business days, and I still didn't get it back. When I tried to discuss the stay, nobody apologized for what they'd done. I'll never stay here again. They need to do better with customer service.
