The breakfast server was the saving grace, so sweet and kind. The main inn is beautiful, but check-in felt cold. Nobody smiled or welcomed us, and the staff seemed bothered we were there, even though they did let us check in early, which was a treat. We asked about dinner and were told there was no chef, so we had to eat elsewhere. We were in a cabin, and there was none of the “luxury” promised on the site. The sheets had holes, the pillowcases were torn and tattered and inside out, and there were spiders in the bathroom. It was shabby overall. ATV riders were allowed to park on the path to the cottage, so we had to haul our luggage around them. It’s quite a hike from the gravel lot to the cabin. I got several automated texts before and during the stay, including an annoying checkout message asking us to click to leave a tip for the staff and cleaners. For the price, we should have had decent sheets and more than scrambled eggs and paper-thin bacon. Maybe service was lacking because it wasn’t busy season, but I wouldn’t choose to stay again.

The breakfasts were tasty, and we enjoyed chatting with the employees. We stayed in a cabin with a nice view, and the spring trees were beautiful. The Greenville Inn is a beautifully restored home. We loved seeing the historic building, its lovely woodwork and stained glass, and the quaint rooms. If we’re back in the area, we’d stay again.

The building is charming, the views are beautiful, and the morning and daytime staff seemed much kinder and more welcoming. But we stayed only one night before moving elsewhere, and probably wouldn’t return. The room felt overpriced for the service and quality, especially at over $300 a night. At arrival, the receptionist was rude and made us feel unwelcome, as if checking us in was a bother. He seemed more interested in riding his bike outside, which felt unprofessional and immature. The windows wouldn’t open and didn’t have screens down, and the badly installed AC left a large hole for bugs. We found dead little flies on the bed and moths in the room. There was no mini fridge, so leftovers would go to waste. Breakfast was okay, though the bacon seemed very thin, probably microwavable. At that price, I expected better service and for these issues to be taken care of. Maybe the cottages are better.

The room was very clean and had enough towels, and the bathrobes were a nice touch. The outside of the main inn looks well preserved, with lovely Victorian furnishings in the public areas. Staff were friendly, though not always around. The owners were nowhere to be seen and live elsewhere. On our two-day July weekend, the inn was practically deserted, with only three of ten breakfast tables occupied. The flower garden had lovely Oriental lillies blooming, but it was weedy and untended. For $329 for the largest suite, I expected much more. There were fake flowers, a tattered upholstered chair, no tissue box, and just one wastebasket for three rooms. The mattress had only a thin sheet on it, with no mattress cover. The bathroom needs serious updating: the shower seemed to have 1920’s fixtures and dumped water straight onto your head, with no room to move away. The curved pipes that might have let the water come from the side were blocked. The old tile had patched holes from previous fixtures, and the drains were corroded. There also weren’t enough electrical outlets, and a plug-in flashlight with a “do not unplug” sign blocked one. We ate breakfast once and had no choices. The orange juice tasted canned, the cheese omelet had no flavor, and we got only half of a tiny bagel on the side. The hash was canned too. This isn’t a first-class place at this price. It needs upgrades in a lot of areas. I don’t recommend it.

The manager was fantastic and a great hostess. One morning she made me a delicious meal to suit my dietary restrictions, even though breakfast is served only during set hours. We had a very nice stay in the charming historic home, with coffee, tea, cookies, and a self-serve bar available around the clock. We chose the Lumber Baron room because the forecast made it seem likely we’d spend a lot of time inside, and we wanted a sitting room of our own away from other guests. That worked well, and the bed was extremely comfortable. I felt like Cinderella. The shower was cramped for me, and even worse for my partner, who’s 6’2 and 225lbs. We’d booked the cruise, but weather led to its cancellation, and the replacement Wilderness tour was offered instead. We agreed, but it was basically a three-hour truck drive in a limited area. Captain Paul was sweet and informative, though we didn’t see any animals. The price at checkout shocked me. I understand there were guarantees, but for what it was, it didn’t feel worth the cost. Still, we’d stay here again, and I think you can have a nice stay if you book.
