Holiday Inn Express Greenville by IHG

There are plenty of convenience stores and restaurants nearby, which was useful. The room itself was another story: there was body hair in the bathroom, the tub was worn and dirty, and we didn’t have enough towels or toilet paper. The iron was rusty and sent out dirty flakes with the steam, and the toilet clogged. With no staff available at 2 a.m. to deal with it, we had to move rooms, which was a pain with little ones in the middle of the night.

I went to Greenville for one night to see a family member, and the stay was mostly comfortable. The staff let me check in at 2 instead of the posted 3:00 time, and my room was clean and fresh like the rest of the hotel. I slept well in the king bed with clean white linens and used the fitness room, which has a couple of cardio machines and dumbbells. Breakfast included what I ate, scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, plus vegetable omelets, pork sausage, breads, fruit, coffee, and juice. A couple of concerns went unmentioned to staff. My window wouldn’t shut completely, leaving a small gap. I also didn’t see security cameras in the fitness room, pool area, lobby, or hallways. The pool water was only three feet deep, so I expected it to look clearer than it did. I didn’t swim, though I saw other guests in swimwear and can only assume they went in.

Rodney, the GM, greeted us with a big warm smile before we even got inside, and Caitlyn at the front desk was just as lovely. They were so helpful and friendly that it felt like we already knew them. I really appreciated how much they wanted us to have a good stay. We’ll come back, and I’d recommend this hotel. Thanks again, Rodney and Caitlyn! 🫶 💫❤️

I heard about a couple of Marines who stayed at this hotel and put a hole in a wall, apparently something that could have been fixed with a 2-by-2-foot drywall patch. They owned up to it, but the GM threatened to call the police and then charged them $2,000 for the damage. I’d be upset even at $1,000. Charging that much feels like robbery of our military troops. This GM has no support for our military.
