Homewood Suites by Hilton Greenville

Getting to room 129 feels like solving a puzzle. From the lobby, turn right down a hall, then make three left turns. The whole hotel has a giant question-mark layout, as if the Riddler designed it. I suspect staff give guests the farthest rooms first and keep the closer ones for themselves. I know several employees live at the hotel.

There was a questionable smudge inside the closet that looked like a booger, though other parts of the room were clean. The appliances and general noise around the hotel were also a lot. Still, the room itself was nice and spacious, and the location beside several shopping complexes is convenient.

Breakfast was great, the property was nice, and the staff were friendly. The workout room, though, is tiny. There’s one treadmill, a stationary bike, and an elliptical, plus dumbbells from 5 to 50. No bench or lat bar, and barely room for one person to stand, lol.

After driving 200 miles with our family of five, we arrived to a filthy room. The replacement was even worse: blood spots on the kids’ pull-out bed, popcorn kernels, strands of hair, and yellow marks. It didn’t look like the rooms were being cleaned at all. The furniture and wall art were crooked and out of place too. We were exhausted, so my kids and I walked next door to the Marriott to find a room. Management said they’d call to make things right, but never did. Very disappointing.
