Residence Inn by Marriott Greenville-Spartanburg A

We were only passing through, otherwise we’d have stayed longer. Our suite had a couch, a full kitchen, and plenty of space. It’s easy to reach from the Interstate, with lots of restaurants nearby. The desk staff were great and breakfast was wonderful. I’d happily stay again and again.

Tim welcomed me at the front desk in a really warm, friendly way. The place was comfortable and had everything I needed for a good night’s sleep.

The room was decent and the stay itself was generally okay, but I lost an Apple Watch and received no help resolving it. The delivery was marked as delivered while I was in the room, yet nobody knocked and I never got the package. The front desk said there were no security cameras and nothing could be done. Losing something valuable this way has seriously affected my trust in the property’s safety.

Breakfast and the breakfast attendant were great, but the room didn’t meet the basics I expect from a Marriott. There was mold around the tub, no drain plug, a chipped bathtub, and the sink faucet barely let water out. The room listing showed a King bed and couch; mine had a King with a somewhat dodgy mattress and no couch. In its place were a lunchroom-style table and four hard-backed chairs. A couple of overstuffed chairs would’ve been better. It may be a little cheaper, but it felt on par with a motel 8 or a lower-quality inn. I choose Marriott wherever it’s available because I expect the basics from the chain.
