Antler Motel

The room turned out to be beautiful, with a cozy cabin feel, and the neighbors were quiet, so we slept like babies. We rode in very late on our motorcycles. The place across the street never answered its bell, but at the Antler the owner came to the door, clearly woken up, and was still super nice. Everywhere else in town was closed or booked, so she found us a room when we were desperate enough that we might have slept in a dumpster. We appreciated her kindness and generosity a lot. I highly recommend the Antler to anyone in town.

The beds had a super soft cover that had me asleep in no time, and the rooms were nicer than most hotels I've stayed in. Janice, pronounced like “niece,” gave me a warm welcome after my long drive, made me laugh with a few jokes, and filled me in on what I needed to know about town. Since I was there for a few days, she said she likes to make sure guests get fresh towels and have everything they need. She really seemed to care about looking after everyone. I'd stay again.

We wished we'd booked another night. The motel is quaint and cute, an older place, but it's clean and well cared for. Our room was spacious, so our family with kids didn't feel crowded. It was very clean, including the updated bathroom, and the bed was comfortable. Janiece was kind, attentive, and happy to help when we needed a couple of extra things. Check-in was easy, and the grocery store is a block away, with a gas station and Family Dollar a couple of blocks away. I highly recommend staying here.

The bears decorating my room made it feel more like a house than a hotel. The owner, Jeanice, is quite the crafter and decorator, and she was welcoming and attentive to what I needed. I was just after a quiet, affordable room, but got a really comfortable one and a quiet night's sleep. She's also a Patriot and gave me a discount for my Veteran's status. I wish I could've stayed longer, but I was only passing through.
