Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Columbus Grove City

This is a newer property, about what you'd expect from other Fairfield Inns. Restaurants are close by, including Texas Roadhouse, which I walked to. The tradeoff is that it's deep in the shopping zone, so traffic congestion can make getting there a hassle. The soundproofing isn't as good as at the higher Marriott grades, though the price is lower too. I booked through a third party, but wifi was easier after I loaded my loyalty at the front desk. My wifi was substantially faster, as the pictures show.

The hotel was clean throughout and smelled fresh, and the people at the service desk and in the breakfast area were great. I missed breakfast because by 9:30 the attendant had mostly put everything away. I hadn't asked at check-in and assumed Friday after Thanksgiving would follow weekend breakfast hours. I had to leave earlier than planned to find a nearby restaurant on the way home.

The Fairfield Inn associates we dealt with were all friendly and helpful, and the rooms and beds were quiet and comfortable. The hotel was clean and up to date, and breakfast had very good choices. A few things could be better: there was no coffee outside breakfast hours, and after a day of travel we would have liked some. The breakfast area had no microwave for warming food to our preferred temperature. At checkout, the room charge was about $40 higher including tax than the reservation amount. We had a copy of the booking, so the desk clerks corrected the folio and apologized.

Nacrina and the staff made us feel welcome and were very accommodating. Breakfast had a nice range of tasty items, and the room was comfortable and clean. We did have trouble with the A/C temperature control, and being right off the highway meant some road noise. Still, it was an enjoyable stay. Thank you.
