UPDATE: I spoke with Carmen Russo, the manager. He confirmed their new policy is not to adjust rates, even though a discount code for Barefoot weekend came out TODAY, about an hour after I spoke with Iona. He again said canceling and rebooking would cost me half my deposit, $623.00. What a sham and money grab. BEWARE! I booked in October 2024 for my third year at Madison, for Barefoot weekend. Our first stay, the year after the 2024 renovations, was amazing, and so was the second. Now the rates are lower, but Iona, the front desk manager, refused to adjust mine. She was extremely rude and said, “Rates go up and down all the time. Do you want me to raise your rates when they go up?” I've never heard of a business refusing to honor a rate when a customer calls. She also said canceling and rebooking the exact same room and dates would still cost me 50% of the deposit. Madison has changed and isn't worth the money. RESPONSE: The 20% cancellation policy was clearly posted, and I had no plan to cancel. But there was nothing saying rates wouldn't be honored or that a code posted by the hotel six months later wouldn't apply. It feels like a money grab because the hotel isn't sold out, and it shows what you think of loyal customers.

The decorations around Madison Resort added a charming touch, and our room was clean and cozy, almost like home. Breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious. We booked a Valentine's Day weekend escape, and the two women at the front desk made us feel welcome right away. It was exactly the relaxing, romantic getaway we hoped for. We had a great time and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

The room was pristine and nicely equipped, with a microwave and coffee maker, and the bed was super comfortable. The water pressure was great, and the heat was set to “high,” which felt excellent with the freezing weather outside. Wildwood has a lot of pretty janky hotels that charge a ton, so this was the exact opposite of what I expected. Really, really good stay for a reasonable price.

The pool area is amazing, and the free study seats and umbrellas from the oceanside attendants are a big help. The decor is retro and cool, with a fridge and microwave that fit the Rat Pack feel, plus a nice big TV in the room. There are some awkward parts, though: the path to the room is crazy narrow, the elevator is the smallest I've ever seen, and the bathroom is tiny and hard to move around in. I'm a big guy and felt cramped, so a larger person might not be comfortable. The beach is a very long walk, as it is everywhere in Wildwood. It's an adorable hotel and I'd stay again, but I do wonder what the architect was thinking.
