We got a very accommodating 2pm checkout, which gave us time to bike to Armstrong Redwoods and back before heading south. The free bike rental was handy, though the brakes and gears could use some maintenance. Our Hilton Diamond status got us upgraded from the Belden house room we booked with a free night certificate to the Armstrong House. It was a great room, with a stylish, very art deco feel that suited the small, quiet boutique hotel. We enjoyed making free s’mores by the fireplace through the evening. We skipped the complimentary wine hour, and the breakfast was tasty but simple, a weak point for a hotel this luxurious. The assorted coffee and tea in the lobby were nice to have throughout the day, and the single-serve honey was delicious. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub, though people were still there late at night and the closing time didn’t seem to be enforced too strictly.

A quiet, pretty property among the redwoods, close to town, restaurants, and the vineyards. It felt like a lovely place for a relaxing wine-tasting getaway. There are communal spaces where you can settle in with a book and a glass of wine by the fireplace. The service was excellent, and the whole small boutique inn has a quaint feel. There’s a pool and hot tub too, though we didn’t try them since it was January. It’s also part of Hilton.

We spent New Year’s here with our two big dogs, and the dinner on New Year’s Eve was a five-star experience. The room was larger than usual and had a hot tub. Everything was quiet and clean, and the service was wonderful. Guerneville is conveniently nearby. We had an outstanding stay and plan to return when the weather is sunny.

The room had plenty of closet space, and the shower, hot tub, and bed were all comfortable. We also loved the meals. Staff helped us make the most of our time in Gurniville, from the property’s paths and vistas to local restaurants, walks, hikes, and other interests. After a long travel day, we were welcomed so warmly. The fire was already going, they offered wine, and staff carried our heavy bags from the car to our room. The stay felt like being a guest in a wonderful home with the restful feel of a Four Seasons retreat. We’ll be back with the whole family next time!

We loved the daily wine tasting from 5-6 and the s’mores, and the restaurant is great. Don’t skip breakfast. The staff were friendly and attentive to what guests needed. It’s a beautiful luxury property in the Russian River valley, surrounded by redwoods, with great views from the room.
