Spark by Hilton Guilford

The location made exploring really easy, with the shoreline close by and shops, restaurants, and the town center just a short drive away. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff were welcoming, and breakfast was a nice extra. I enjoyed my stay at Spark by Hilton Guilford and would come back next time I'm visiting the shoreline area.

I've stayed at Spark by Hilton Guilford twice now, and the second visit was just as good as the first. The beds made for a good night's sleep, and the rooms are comfortable and consistently clean. Breakfast was fresh each morning, and being near the shoreline is ideal. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and clearly care about making guests feel welcome. I'll keep coming back when I'm in the area.

The two queen room was spacious and clean, and the staff were helpful. We were pleased with the stay and would return. We came to Guilford to see friends and tried the Hilton hotel, which I believe used to be a Comfort Inn before Hilton took it over and renovated it nicely. It had been open since spring. Breakfast is the one weaker point: it's a limited continental spread, unlike the wonderful breakfasts at Hampton Inns. Still, it was fine for a lower priced hotel.

The air conditioning worked, and the rooms were clean, but the place still looks and feels like a budget hotel. The sheets and towels weren't very good, and I could hear everything from next door and the hallway through the thin walls. There was a fridge but no microwave. Worst of all, my door wouldn't close and lock all the way. At first the front desk just said it wasn't easy to close, then they looked into it. I noticed the problem when I was checking out, so I left.
