Quality Inn Near Western State Colorado University

The hotel’s basic functions worked, but the guest amenities fell short. Breakfast was available, though the quality was very low. The heater worked, but it was so noisy that getting enough sleep was difficult. There was also a large hole in the wall that had been patched poorly, leaving a chance that mice could get in.

Staff gave me a ride to the airport early in the morning, and downtown was only a 7-minute walk away. The lobby and room were clean. The room was comfortable, with two sinks, new-looking bed and furniture, and nice bedding. Some bathroom fixtures were dated, but that didn’t bother me. Breakfast was okay. Very good for the price, and I’d stay again.

The town is great, but this hotel feels neglected and like wasted potential. My family paid good money for a suite and expected far more. The linens were clean but stained, and apart from the beds, the room didn’t seem fully cleaned before we arrived. The tub was moldy and the shower held water instead of draining. At night, it was impossible to sleep because the A/C barely worked, and on the cold setting it blew hot air. The fitness room was a letdown too: a cheap Amazon treadmill, a broken bike, a bent and broken elliptical, and broken lifting equipment. Afterward I needed a bathroom, but there wasn’t one on the lobby floor. I had to go upstairs to the neglected conference room. Its bathroom sink was broken and the trash was full of alcohol bottles. Breakfast was bad. The only edible thing was the waffles, which you have to make yourself. The eggs were powdered and watery, and the staff left only 3 muffins out at a time. When I went for water, I got a glimpse of the “kitchen,” which was a supply closet repurposed with a fridge and two microwaves. I also saw an empty Tupperware container that had held powdered scrambled eggs. It looked like they make the eggs ahead and microwave them. There seemed to be only one person working on the property at any time. The understaffing may explain why the place feels mismanaged and corners seem to be cut. We’ve had much better stays at motels and lodges.

Mr Akhil helped me with the breakfast menu, and when I asked the way to the swimming pool, he kindly took me there. He was humble and respectful, as were the staff generally. Thanks, Akhil, and thanks, wingate. I’ll tell my family and friends to visit because the hotel was clean and the staff were good. My stay at wingate by wyndham was relaxing and enjoyable. I liked the elegant design and the amenities, and the attentive, courteous staff made me feel well looked after.
